    Iv always loved rick rorodis if you habent read any of his other books then do it now the percy jackson series the trials of Apollo series this series the red pyramid series (the Egyptian books were always my least favret) the lost hero series and recently he prasid s book called the storm runner its also about gods and really good then theres his other short stories that are ok so yea just read all his books!

    I was looking forward to a fun and engrossing fantasy story, only to be met with a writing style that is clearly aimed at children. At least I hope that’s the intention. I didn’t realize I could dislike a book based solely on writing style until I started this one up. In fact, I wanted to like it so much, I gave it until I was over 200 pages in. The story is decent, but the way in which it’s told is not. It’s written in a way that’s both unbelievable (the characters are truly ridiculous), and leaves you distracted by their actions, words, and thoughts. In other words, if you enjoy a well-written story with characters that behave within the realm of reasonable, this author is not for you. And I mean behave in a way that’s believable in situations that are not. Quite literally, the characters are so shallow and trite, I ended up discarding the book because I didn’t care any longer. Perhaps, and I say this only because I’m digging deep here, if you’re young, or like simply-written, less-developed storytelling, you might find this good? Based on the majority of reviews, I’m assuming that’s the case.

    Riordan does a phenomenal job at showcasing the story in an original format, not only creating a great story, but imparting a lot of mythological knowledge. These books are what children in schools should be reading to learn about mythology. This book engages the characters in a lighthearted and lovable way, making you truly empathize and get caught up in the story. I look forward to it’s sequel.

    I have read every book and this one is by far my favorite.As I forged on through this wonderful tale I realized many things are historically accurate.You will be surprised by the many twists in the story as Magnus explores the nine worlds.
