We first meet Celia and Edward in the past books, now they get their own story. Celia likes to play The Game when she wants her way. She finally meets her match in Edward. In the cut throat business world, there is no give and take, only take. Edward offers a business deal to Celia and the fun starts. Slay: Rivalry is a fun and sexy story, full of shenanigans on the part of Celia. It does end in a cliffhanger in this series. Slay: Ruin cannot come soon enough.

Celia Werner is just as evil and devious as ever and still hasn’t completely gotten over Hudson, who is happily married, while Celia is still playing “The Game”; preying on weak individuals who fall for her calculating schemes. She has definitely met her match with Edward Fasbender who is her equal in every way. In fact, he is actually the male version of Celia, only more dangerous. Edward is controlling, dominating and the boss at work and at home. He always succeeds in getting what he wants no matter what it takes or no matter who he has to ruin to get it. She finds Edward sexy and larger than life, and he has awakened feelings within her that she thought did not exist. When he proposed a business arrangement that would benefit both of them, she thought he was crazy and found the idea ridiculous. She stormed out of the meeting but couldn’t stop thinking about him. Celia realized that this was the biggest game she would ever play and was confident that she would come out the winner. It is hard to describe how I feel about Laurelin Paige’s latest book which features everyone’s most hated character, Celia Werner. I had been waiting for her story for a long time and I finally understand how and why she crossed paths with Edward. I was amazed with how much they have in common and how they seem to know each other inside and out. Celia may be the master at playing games with people’s emotions, but Edward’s ability to subconsciously control her is devastatingly wicked and somewhat frightening. The sexual power struggle that exists between Celia and Edward is volatile and seductive and I can only hope they can come to an understanding before it is too late.
Laurelin Paige -master of her craft! She ”Slay” it!
Once again Laurelin Paige knocked me off my feet with another one of her fascinating and compelling stories. This is just what we’ve come to expect from her. She is a brilliant story teller -a master at her craft. Her stories are always fresh, addictive and engrossing. Celia and Edward’s story was no different.
Celia and Edward will intrigue and captivate you with their sexy (erotic) angst-filled power play.
Celia was back to playing her games, but Edward played the game better. He was always one step ahead of her. She had finally met her match. Edward was unbending, relentless hard as a nail and irresistible. It was so amusing watching Celia getting a dose of her own medicine -and we know how well she played her marks from watching all her antics in the Fixed Series. I've always felt that something devastating must've happened to her for her to be the way she was. I didn't hate her. I felt bad for her, but now I absolutely loved her -now that I'm seeing her in a different light and seeing things from her POV. I'm glad we had a chance to get to read her story. I was sad when the book ended, but excited that Slay: Ruin will be coming soon!
I only thought I had love for Hudson and Alayna, and there was no way I would like Celia, but this was a major page turner for me. Now, I’m fighting for Celia to win this (whatever this is) with Edward.. hopefully it’s a happily ever after for her by the time this series ends. The ending had me having to do a double take and read the last page twice. I need Slay Two to hurry and release. Patience. (Sigh)

I was obsessed with the Fixed trilogy and Chandler. Celia’s story could have been way better, I absolutely hate all of the characters, zero depth and the sex scenes sucked. I won’t be buying the next book I could care less what happens to either one of these two.
Captivating read full of surprises!

I was not sure how I would respond to Celia’s story. You know, that Celia from the Fixed series. But I went in with an open mind and wow, just wow. Slay: Rivalry by Laurelin Paige was so much more than I ever imagined. Celia is not perfect and she is the woman she has always been, but we begin to see inside her head and it opens so much about her. When she is summoned by Edward Fasbender, she was not sure what to expect.
Edward is not a likable man, but he has plans for Celia. At this point I am not sure how redeemable he is, but he was also captivating and determined. Celia is a woman who is used to commanding those around her and keeping them at arm’s length. Their chemistry is combustible, but both knew the other could be very dangerous.
What a story you weave Laurelin Paige! Slay: Rivalry was so many things. It was full of surprises and twists and I could not stop reading. Excited to see what’s to come in the following books in the quartet.

5 Intense and Mysterious Stars!
Oh boy here we go! Queen of angst is bringing the suspense upon us once again. We have a whole new roller coaster of emotion ahead of us and it won’t be a doozy, let me tell you. Ms. Paige can redeem anyone, I know it’s hard to believe but I’m already feeling so sorry for Celia. I know I shouldn’t but I think she’s been going through her own demons she has had to battle.
Edward Fasbender is a mystery, an enigma. I am dying to know more about this man and his feeling towards Celia. He holds something over her where Celia submits herself, it’s this energy Edward has about himself that holds Celia captive. These two have me on the edge of my seat! I cannot wait to find out what happens next, I need more like I need to breathe. Get ready, just make sure you don’t have any plans for the day when you read this. Once you start you won’t be able to stop! 5 intense and mysterious stars!
